1. How were the principles of care value based not put in place in this case ? 2. Who were the victims ? 1 Promoting anti discriminatory practice Care workers must treat all clients in the same way, no matter what the differences are. How might this be put in place with a HSC

setting? Why is that important? 2 Maintaining confidentiality Appropriate protection of personal and private information about clients. (Data Protection Act and disclosure of information) How might that be put into place within a

care setting of your choice? Why is that important? 3 Respecting and acknowledging personal beliefs and identity Respecting individuals needs with regards to their care, religious, and/or cultural beliefs. How might this put into place within a health and social care setting of your

choice ? Why is that important ? 4 Promoting effective communication and relationship Ensuring that communication within HSC setting between practitioner and patient is professional and respectful. How might that be put in place in a HSC setting of your choice ? Why is that important ?

5 Promoting individualised care Provision of care which is based on the individual needs of each patient taking into account their personal needs and preferences. How might this be put in place in a HSC setting ? Why is that important ?

6 Protecting individuals from abuse and harm Although certain care workers, such as social workers and health care visitors, need to tackle abuse issues on a day-to-day basis, all health care workers will need to be aware of what to do if they suspect one of their patients has been abused. For this reason, it's vital that all staff in the industry understand the procedures to go through when reporting abuse.

How might this put into place in a HSC setting of your choice ? Why is that important ? 7 Promoting and supporting dignity, independence and safety People who require health care, particularly long-term health care, may feel like their dignity and independence are slipping away from them. How might this be put into place within a

HSC setting of your choice ? Why is this important ? Independent Study In order to achieve, your P1 task following completion of your glossary. You will need to create a mind map poster: 1. Explain what is meant by the term care value base; 2. Identify the 7 component of the care value base:
